Where is OnStar on a Traverse or Acadia?

The OnStar module (GM calls it the VCIM) is the cellular modem that reports your SUV's location and driving data. On the 2020+ Traverse and Acadia it's in one of two places, depending on the build.
Short answer
On a 2020+ Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia, the OnStar module is either above the glovebox on the passenger side or in the rear jack compartment. Check both. For the quickest fix, look for a VCIM, ONSTAR, or INFO fuse on the driver-side instrument panel fuse box lid.

What you’re looking for
A metal or plastic box with a white part-number label, one or two wiring plugs, and coaxial antenna cables for cellular and GPS.
Try the fuse first
Open the driver-side instrument panel fuse cover and read the diagram inside the lid. Look for a fuse labeled VCIM, ONSTAR, or INFO. Pull it and OnStar loses power. Reinsert it to restore, with no programming needed.
Careful: airbag fuses sit close by. Confirm the label before pulling, because the wrong fuse can set airbag warning codes.
Or unplug the module
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal (10 mm) and wait five minutes.
- Find the module above the glovebox or in the rear jack compartment.
- Photograph the plugs and antenna cables.
- Press the locking tab on each plug and pull straight out. Leave the module in place.
- Reconnect the battery.
Confirm it worked
The OnStar mirror button shows inactive or no service, and the myChevrolet or myGMC app can no longer reach the vehicle.
